We thought about using cement render on this project, but on a material such as strawbale, lime render's ability to move slightly with the bales and it's breathability gave it the edge over cement.
I guess there may be plasticisers and additives that would help with the brittleness that we found with cement render. However, the site is a nature reserve and the budget wasn't big at all so the 'natural' qualities (and low cost) of the lime render also appealed, after we'd dealt with protecting against it's caustic effects! There's a long history of using it on old houses in the South-West UK and I must admit, I understand why now.
All the best and I hope you lenjoy seeing how the project is going as it continues!Alistairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16375556738066106681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4525461965645261532.post-9200442821966251452013-02-19T03:35:04.167-08:002013-02-19T03:35:04.167-08:00This method of rendering would surely help the peo...This method of rendering would surely help the people living in those areas to maintain their house.
cement rendering sydney | textured rendering SydneyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
